What is the purpose of the Delta Foundation?
The Foundation exists to increase the charitable donations to under-privileged and under-served individuals and families in the Columbus OH communities. We do this through scholarships, grants and sponsorships.
How is the Delta Foundation associated with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.?
The Delta Foundation of Greater Columbus was established as a result of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Columbus, (OH) Alumnae Chapter’s desire to strengthen and expand the charitable and educational giving of the chapter’s programs. In recent years, our national headquarters established parameters in which chapters and auxiliary foundations should partner. We are happy to have the Columbus (OH) Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority remain one of our strongest partners in serving the Columbus community.
If I make a donation to the Delta Foundation is it tax deductible?
Yes, the Delta Foundation of Greater Columbus is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization recognized by the IRS which allows for tax deduction. The Foundation will issue you a receipt which may be submitted with tax filing.
May our organization use the Delta Foundation as a fiscal conduit to avoid paying taxes for services or for a venue?
No. The Foundation is not able act as a fiscal agent for any organization for the purposes of avoiding taxes. This is against IRS regulations and our Foundation Code of Regulations.
How can I honor a loved one through the Delta Foundation?
Many of our community request honoring their deceased loved one with a donation toward an established educational scholarship or grant issued to a non-profit. This is a wonderful way to remember a beloved member of your family and our community. The Foundation will include your loved one’s name in any scholarship or grant the foundation awards.
